Welcome to Martin Hawes Wilderness Photography
Martin Hawes has been photographing wilderness (mainly in Tasmania) since the mid-1970s.
His misty landscapes and abstract close-ups have a haunting, dreamlike quality reminiscent of surrealist paintings and traditional East Asian art.
This site includes more information about Martin and a selection of his photographs taken in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and the Caucasus Mountains, Russia.
